β¦ Synopsis
A suggestion is made for using superconductors as thermal radiation shields at or below liquid helium temperatures. Calculations are described which predict total emissivities for niobium of 10 -4-10 .5 at 4 K and 10 "8-10 -7 for temperatures of 1-2 K.

The metal-insulator transition in a copper-oxide superconductor is discussed. It is shown that at the composition where this occurs at zero temperatures, the number of carriers (bipolarons) varics at \(T\). This gives a tentative explanation of the behavior of the Hall coefficient. Professor Rao's w
