Abstract

A new approach is described for identifying structural isomers which cannot be distin‐guished on the basis of their electron‐impact mass spectra. Using a pulsed ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer, equilibrium constsnts are measured for ion‐molecule reactions involving various C~8~H~10~ isomers and C~7~H~8~O isomers. The equilibrium constants are shown to be highly sensitive to the structural features of the various isomers.
