β¦ Synopsis
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between students' usage of information resources held in their university library and their academic achievement indicated by their grade point averages (GPA). This field study was conducted on 304 "Class Teacher" students who were registered during the third semester of the academic year 2008-2009 at the Faculty of Educational Sciences in Zarqa Private University in Jordan. Correlation of the individual student responses with their personal GPA scores revealed that academic achievement had a significant relationship to their use of books, whereas their use of periodicals, reference materials, electronic resources, and other types of information resources had no significant relationship with their academic achievement. Such a result may be attributed to the fact that textbooks were more recommended for study than the other types of resources. In addition, use of other types of resources was not directly related to their study.
