Abstract
The performance of a slot‐loop antenna with a very narrow outer conductor can be significantly improved by connecting to an extended ground plane whose length is a quarter wavelength. The antenna has a reduced size and wider impedance bandwidth. Simulations have been carried out in the one‐wavelength and two‐wavelength modes and confirmed by experiments. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
