โœฆ Synopsis

Differential elastic scattering cross sections have been measured for the systemsH: f 02, SF6, NH;,CO, and CH,: and for Dt f 02, SF6, and NH3 using crossed mofccular beams. These experiments represent B tvidc vark~tion in th* size, anisotropy and initial rchtivc cotlision energy E of thz swttering partners, and of the correspondin:: de Eroglic ~~avel~ngtlts, In all c;1scs, rapid quantum osciktions have been resoived. From these differential cross sections. central-field potentials have been obtained which were independent of the energy and the isotapic composition of the hydrogen molecule used, as required f'or such potentials to be physically nteaningful. Therefore, anisotropjr effccts do not seem important in describing the dit'fercntial elastic scattcrtig of these Hz(D2) systems.
