Successful European SOFC Forum
The recent 9th European SOFC Forum in Lucerne, Switzerland saw the latest advances in solid oxide fuel cell technology reported in 120 oral and 130 poster presentations. The conference -chaired by Professor John Irvine of the University of St Andrews in Scotland -was accompanied by an exhibition featuring some 30 companies showcasing fuel cell components and related products, and a well attended pre-conference tutorial presented by Dr Augustin McEvoy.
The SOFC field is seeing significant progress in the science and technology at a growing number of research institutions and universities worldwide. Presentations in Lucerne included reports from JΓΌlich, DLR, Fraunhofer IKTS and Fraunhofer IWE in Germany, RisΓΆ/DTU in Denmark, ETH and EMPA in Switzerland, CEA in France, Imperial College and St Andrews in the UK, as well as universities and institutes from all over Europe.
