We derive the distribution of the number of infections among unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals for model 1 (leaky) and model 2 (all/nothing) vaccines, assuming random mixing of a homogeneous population. For all/nothing vaccines, we show that the distribution of the number of infected vaccinate

We consider a general two-color urn model characterized by a 2 Γ— 2 matrix of integers a b c d without constraints on the values of these four integers other than non-negativity. Exact distributions of the number of balls of a speciΓΏc color that appear after n draws are presented. Via Poissonization,

This note concerns the entropy of the Ehrenfest urn model. Both Boltzmann and Gibbs entropies are discussed. It is shown that they agree at equilibrium. The Boltzmann entropy shows fluctuations in time while the Gibbs entropy is proved to increase monotonically to its maximum (equilibrium) value. Th
