Abstract
The slug, Limax flavus, excretes both urea and purines.
Urea and purines account for up to 59 and 41% of the excretory nitrogen, respectively.
Of the purines excreted uric acid predominates (64%) with quanine (22%) and xanthine (14%) usually being voided in lesser amounts. Neither adenine or hypoxanthine was detected.
Urea was excreted in urine while the purines were deposited irregularly, as semi‐solid, yellowish nubs.
