a-Tocopherol is formed from homogentisate and phytylpyrophosphate in chloroplasts. Homogentisate originates from tyrosine formed by the plastidic shikimate pathway. Phytylpyrophosphate is formed by the mevalonate pathway and plutidic polyprenyl pyrophosphate synthesis. As a new result, the capacity
