Abstract
Laser Raman spectroscopy permits an identification of the Nβ1 and Nβ3 deprotonated tautomers of uracil and thymine and a qualitative estimation of their distribution in solution. The applicability of the method with respect to the differentiation of other heterocyclic tautomers is briefly discussed.

## Abstract Both Raman spectra and Xβray diffraction patterns have been obtained from oriented fibers of sodium deoxyribonucleic acid (NaβDNA) as a function of salt content and relative humidity. We have confirmed the previously reported Xβray results that, for oriented fibers, the Aβform always ex
An error in Table I11 listed the ratio of the intensity of the Raman band at 811 cm-l to that at 1098 cm-1 in the poly I-poly C complex as 1.5. This value should have been 1.6. The average maximum value of this ratio for the three helices which can be reversibly ordered in the A form (poly I-poly C,
