โฆ Synopsis
Specialized treatment units for Eating Disorders are scarce in Austria. Despite the fact that local services and community care are received wisdom, treatment facilities are mainly concentrated in urban areas in Austria. When the first Eating Disorders Clearing House in Austria was founded in 1990, it received many requests for appropriate treatment. These inquiries showed that patients with bulimia nervosa had particular difficulties in finding proper treatment. Thus Network Eating Disorders initiated the first questionnaire survey in Austria in order to collect all public health and private sector facilities which offer treatment for ED. This book includes all units of the public health sector in Austria providing specialist care for ED; it covers units as diverse as psychiatry, pediatrics and child psychiatry. In addition, many psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists in the private sector are included. Thus treatment facilities in all nine regions of Austria have been recorded. In addition, several contact addresses for self-help groups and associations are given. This book can be purchased from Network Eating Disorders (for an address see above).
