โฆ Synopsis
A middle-aged woman was subjected to balloon mitral valvuloplasty using a bifoil balloon catheter. After inflation the balloon failed to detlate in spite of negative suction, probably due to a kink. The balloon was perforated with a transseptal puncture needle in order to deflate it and save open heart surgery.
