β¦ Synopsis
A double-wedge with a relative thickness d/c > 0.15 forms a vortex street in its wake. This was investigated experimentally in the Mach number range of 0.4 to 0.75. The strength and the frequency of the pressure fluctuations which are produced by the vortices, were measured on the surface of the wedge for different chord length and relative thickness, both in chord-and spanwise direction. The density fluctuations around the profile and in the wake were measured with a Mach-Zehnder interferometer and a schlieren system. Attention was focussed on the question concerning to what extent unsteady flows are affected by wall interferences.
