โฆ Synopsis
The unsteady laminar inccmpressible nonsimilar boundary layer flow over a circular cylinder placed symmetrical ly inside a channel has been studied when the unsteadiness and nensimilarity are dae to the free stream velocity. The nonlinear partial diff~tial equations with three independent variables have been solved numerically using an implicit finite-difference in ccm~ination with the quasilinearization technique.
It is found that the channel blockage parameter controls the transfer of heat frcm the cylinder and delays separation. The skin friction and heat transfer are significantly affected by the free stream velocity distributions.
