โœฆ Synopsis

We present a general abstract scheme for the analysis of Kirkwood-Salsburg-(like) identities. The main conclusions obtained in this manner seem to be much better than those obtained by the standard contraction map principle approach. Detailed application of the general method to the theory of the classical continuous gas with a superstable interaction potential is given. In particular it is proved that the whole resolvent set of the corresponding Kirkwood-Salsburg operator corresponds to a region free of phase transitions of any order.
