โฆ Synopsis
The uniform motion of a constant load along an infinite string on a Winkler supported membrane is studied for several ratios of the load velocity and the wave velocity in the membrane and the string.
To study the displacements of the system, deflection profiles of the membrane and the string are calculated and presented as graphs. Also, expressions for the equivalent stiffness of the Winkler supported membrane interacting with a string are derived analytically.
