✦ Synopsis
The relation between the Airy and Bessel uniform approximations for onedimeusionalS matrix integrals in semiclassical collision theory is investigated. It is shown how the Airy uniform approximation can be obtained from the Bessel uniform approximation as a special case. The calculations extend previous work by Stine and Marcus on this topic.
