✦ Synopsis
An acetylene polymerization, catalysed by an aged mixture of a Ziegler catalyst in a silicone oil reaction medium, yields a defect-free polyacetylene that can be oriented up to 600%.
After iodine oxidation, the polymer gives electrical conductivities > iO0 OOO S/cm.
