Long-term low dose antimicrobial prophylaxis is effective for the prevention of recurrent uncomplicated urinary infections in women. The fluoroquinolone antimicrobials, including norfloxacin, have an in vitro spectrum effective for most uropathogens, and generally achieve high concentrations in the
