Spectral reflectances and geometric albedos between 2300 and \(3250 \AA\) are determined for 45 asteroids from data acquired by the International Ultraviolet Explorer satellite. The geometric albedos are consistently low, ranging from \(\sim 0.02\) for C-type asteroids to ใ0.08 for M-type asteroids.
Two versions of the Toon et al. (1992, Icarus 95, 24-53) Titan haze model were used to simulate the observed blue and yellow geometric albedo variations using a time-dependent haze production. Steady-state calculations were used to suggest that the range of production rate changes necessary to expla
