✦ Synopsis
We report a case in which gas bubbles were demonstrated in the hepatic veins in ultrasound examinations of a patient after orthotopic liver transplantation. The conditions for gas development and the possible routes for gas entering the hepatic veins are discussed. Even though there is no definitive explanation for this phenomenon, we think it is a dubious condition and careful evaluation of the patient's status should be performed.
