β¦ Synopsis
Temperature dependence of the ultrasonic attenuation a and the sound velocity Vs have been measured in a Lal.85Sro.15CuO4 single crystal under the magnetic field. A jump and a kink in Vs have been observed at the superconducting transition temperature Tc in the C33 and the CI! mode, respectively. A peak in ~ has been also observed at Tc in the C33 mode. Furthermore, an anomalous stiffening in V$ and an attenuation peak have been observed below 10K. Magnetic field effects on these elastic anomalies and a possibility of a new phase transition below 10K are presented.
