β¦ Synopsis
3-Amino1,2,4-triazole inhibits catalase irreversibly in the presence of hydrogen peroxide produced by mate oxidase and D-aIIIin0 acid oxidase. Linearity can be obtained between the inhibition of catalase and the activity of the oxidases. A few microunits mate oxidase and o-amino acid oxidase, corresponding to less than 1 pg frozen-dried rat liver and kidney, respectively, can be determined by the simple assay of the remaining catatatic activity.
