✦ Synopsis
IntramoIecular energy transfer in molecules with two separate chromophores is investigated_ Excitation energy is rapidly transferred from the donor to the acceptor chromophore with high quantum efficiency. The observed fast rise. of the fluorescence suggests a transfer time of shorter than lo-'* s_ This upper limit agrees with theoretical estimates.
