✦ Synopsis

EICI-II-IORN

From tire L3ciLinsolt-Nos~i(rcl, Pcluclr-Taftvulb (Israel)

The usual quantities needed for micro-estimation (0.1-0.2 ml blood, plasma or strum) arc sometimes even too large for scrics-determinations in infants or small laboratory animals. The following methods give the possibility of examining nonprotein nitrogen and urea in IO-20 /cl of blood (0.01-0.02 ml).

A. NON-PROTEIN NITROGEN

An ultra micro-method for the determination of non-protein nitrogen in 20 ml of blood or strum, using digestion without distillation was described in 1935~. Later on non-protein uitragcn could bc determined omitting both digestion and distillation, using 0.1-0.2 ml of blood 2. l3ased on this method the following ultramicro-method was devclopcd.
