Torvac expansion Torvac Midland Ltd is the newest associated company with Torvac Ltd of Histon, Cambridge. Torvac Ltd has, for the past 17 yr been designing, developing and building high vacuum equipment, and their high vacuum furnaces and electron beam welders are widely used in research and in industry.

In 1976 it was decided that a better service could be provided for customers in giving them a faster turn-round, and at the same time offset to an extent the escalating costs of transportation. Accordingly the new company, Torvac Midland Ltd was formed, to operate from Coventry and cover the very important industrial Midlands, for a radius of 60 miles. With locations in Lancashire, Warwickshire, and Cambridge TORVAC sub-contract services can offer new opportunities for British engineering to use the specialist techniques in high vacuum engineering and save both on capital investment and operating costs.
