Zur Synthese des sehr reaktiven 3a wurde 3,4-Diethylpyrrol 5["] durch eine vinyloge Vilsmeier-Formylierung mit 3-(Dimethylamino)acrolein zu 4a umgesetzt, das N-methyliert (4b) und rnit NaBH, in situ zu 3a reduziert wurde. Kondensation von 3a ergab mit 27% Ausbeute das farblose, nicht cyclisch konjug
