✦ Synopsis
VOl. 1s crotic tissue in corpus carcinoma; it also provides better conditions for subsequent local radium therapy.
As far as can be judged from the 25 cases so far observed, combined irradiation and local SP-therapy has no undesirable side-effects. Other authors', 294 also have referred to good tolerance of SP-I and SP-G treatment combined with radiotherapy.
SUMMARY
By counts of the late mitotic phases (ana-and telophases) before and after SP-chemotherapy the authors investigated the effect of these substances on genital carcinoma. Out of 14 cases of genital carcinoma 10 reacted to SP-chemotherapy by a reduction of the late mitotic phases by 50y0 and more. These results were obtained by combined local and general chemotherapy, with intra-uterine administration of 2x200 mg. SP-G gel daily and systemic administration of 400 to 600 mg. SP-I. O n the basis of the results obtained we consider that in some cases of genital carcinoma chemotherapy supplementary to classical cancer treatment is advantageous.
