technique allows accurate comparison of the FDTD results with the analytical solutions by solving a parametric FWM problem associated with plane-wave propagation in a nonlinear medium. The FDTD results agree well with the theoretical predictions of the FWM conversion efficiency in situations where the smallsignal approximation and the slowly-varying envelope approximation are valid.
