β¦ Synopsis
It is known that the scattering of a low-energy particle by a potential of a small radius of action is satisfactorily described by the s-wave alone. I n the present paper we give a method for obtaining functions by means of which the scattering of particle on two localized potentials separated by an arbitrary distance 2d can be described with the aid of two waves alone. Two-point solenoidal vector functions are also obtained. I n the case of two centers they play the same role as the well-known electric and magnetic multipoles in one-centre problems (for example, problems of scattering or emission of a photon in the dipole approximation).

We discuss two-point distortion inequalities for (not necessarily normalized) univalent functions f on the unit disk D. By a two-point distortion inequality we mean an upper or lower bound on the Euclidean distance |f(a) -f(b)| in terms of d D (a; b), the hyperbolic distance between a and b, and the
We give elements of a general theory of local two-point functions on Riemannian manifolds. Some classical and also recent results in Riemannian geometry are reproved in a unified form. Let (M,g) be a smooth Riemannian manifold of dimension n > 2. By a two-point function on M we shall mean a smooth
The semi-local convergence of a Newton-type method used to solve nonlinear equations in a Banach space is studied. We also give, as two important applications, convergence analyses of two classes of two-point Newton-type methods including a method mentioned in [5] and the midpoint method studied in
## Abstract Excitation saturation can dramatically alter the effective imaging point spread function (PSF) in twoβphoton fluorescence microscopy. The saturationβmodified PSF can have important implications for resolution in fluorescence imaging as saturation leads to both an increased fluorescence
Some meson correlation functions have a large contribution from the low lying eigenmodes of the Dirac operator. The contribution of these eigenmodes can be averaged over all positions of the source. This can improve the signal in these channels significantly. We test the method for meson two-point f
