✦ Synopsis
A tunable dye laser has been used to observe resonant two photon photodetachment of electrons From CF. These measurements definitely establish the fact that the Herzberg-Lagerquist band system belongs to CT, and that the ground state ofCr is a *$state. The two photon photodetachment technique is described, and future potentialities are assessed.
