✦ Synopsis

Pressure drop and void fraction measurement were carried out for the two-phase cocurrent flow of gas and liquid in a helical coil of 12.5 mm i.d. and 665 mm coil dia. The systems used were airwater, air-corn-sugar-water solution, air-glycerol-water solution and air-butanol-water solution. The results were comoared with the Lockhart-Martinelli correlation, Dukler's correlation and Hughmark's correlation:

## Abstract The distribution of gas and liquid in a gas–liquid two‐phase slug flow was measured using semi‐supermultiple point‐electrode probes. Based on the measurements, the wake zone behind a gas slug and the low void‐fraction zone in a liquid slug were defined, and the void fractions of the two
