β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Two novel triterpenes, 29(20β19)abeolupaneβ3,20βdione (4) and 19,20βsecoursaneβ3,19,20βtrione (5), besides (3__Ξ²__)β3βhydroxyβ29(20β19)abeolupanβ20βone (2), lupenone, and Ξ±βamyrone (6), were isolated from the leaves of Ficus microcarpa and were characterized by spectroscopic means, including 2DβNMR techniques and chemical methods. Compound 4 is the second derivative having the 29(20β19)abeolupane skeleton, and 5 is a novel skeleton. A biosynthetic pathway to 5 is proposed (Scheme).

## Abstract Four new lactone chlorins, ficuschlorins AβββD (**1**β**4**, resp.), and six known pheophytins were isolated from the leaves of __Ficus microcarpa.__ The structures of these compounds were determined by 1Dβ and 2DβNMR spectroscopy, and other techniques. New natural pheophytins were rare
