Abstract

Two new guaiadiene derivatives, the ether 9α, 11‐epoxy‐1β__H__,5α__H__,7β__H__‐guaia‐3,10(14)‐diene (4) and the corresponding alcohol 1βH,5αH,7βH‐guaia‐3,10(14)‐dien‐11‐ol (8) were isolated from the essential oil from the heartwood of Thuja occidentalis L. Their structures were elucidated by ^1^H‐ and ^13^C‐NMR spectroscopy (COSY, NOED).
