✦ Synopsis
Two methods for the separation of a-fetoprotein (AFP) and albumin using (A) affinity chromatography on Blue Sepharose CL-6B and (B) ampholyte displacement chromatography are described. The heterogeneity of immunoreactive human AFP is demonstrated by ampholyte displacement chromatography; possibly seven variants of AFP can be distinguished by this method.
