We consider a general two-dimensional gravity model minimally or nonminimally coupled to a scalar field. The canonical form of the model is elucidated, and a general solution of the equations of motion in the massless case is reviewed. In the presence of a scalar field all geometric fields (zweibein

β¦ Synopsis
On the basis of a new approach for the calculation of the effective action developed in our previous works we calculate the effective action (up to two-loop level) for some models containing fermion fields. This method allows us to calculate the fermionic part of the effective action properly. The two-loop contribution to the effective potential for the Nambu-JonaLasinio model is calculated and is shown to vanish. 1995 Academic Press. Inc.

Using a synthesis of the functional integral and operator approaches we discuss the fermion-boson mapping and the role played by the Bose field algebra in the Hilbert space of two-dimensional gauge and anomalous gauge field theories with massive fermions. A cooling cycle with He II convection driven by self-sustained fountain effect pumps is being investigated. Special attention is drawn to the problem of heat transfer at both ends of the superfilter of this loop. The heat exchanger requirements are derived from theoretical considerations on the degr
We present new fixed point results for generalized contractions on spaces with two metrics. In addition generalized contractive homotopies will also be discussed in detail.
The optimized expansion for the effective action in quantum field theory is discussed to second order. As an example we use the scalar quantum field theory with \(\lambda \phi^{4}\) interaction in one-dimensional space-time, which is equivalent to quantum mechanics of the anharmonic ascillator. The
