✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A 66‐year‐old patient sustained a severe right hand injury resulting in a thumb pulp defect and unreplantable amputation of the index, long, and ring fingers at the metacarpophalangeal joint with joint exposure. There was also an 8 cm defect of the radial digital nerve of the little finger. Immediate one‐stage total reconstruction of all of the defects was accomplished by a free groin flap and a free glabrous skin flap from the foot. Opposable function of the hand was thus preserved. © 1995 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
