โœฆ Synopsis

The study of blocking semiovals in finite projective planes was motivated by Batten [1] in connection with cryptography and was begun by Dover [4,5]. In this note, two new families of blocking semiovals are constructed in desarguesian planes.

We construct, in a very simple way, two new classes of elementary abelian (q 2 , k, k&1) and (q 2 , k+1, k+1) difference families with k a multiple of q&1. The first of these classes contains, as special cases, the supplementary difference systems constructed by A.

Systematic and detailed chromosome analysis, combined with a semistructured interview, was performed in 2 families with schizophrenia and in 2 families with manic depressive illness. Prometaphase technique did not reveal any subtle structural chromosome abnormalities. However, in standard techniques
