β¦ Synopsis
Using the method of few-body physics, the exact numerical results for the quantum system of two vertically coupled two-dimensional single exciton quantum dots are obtained as a function of the dot size. The results are compared with those of the biexciton in single-layer dots. The dependence of the binding energies of excitonic molecules on the conΓΏnement in double-layer quantum dots is also studied.

It is known experimentally that stable charged-exciton complexes can exist in low-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures. Much less is known about the properties of such charged-exciton complexes since three-body problems are very difficult to solve, even numerically. Here we introduce the correla
A theory of intrinsic radiative lifetimes of excitons in semiconductor quantum dots is presented. Simple closed-form expressions for the decay times are obtained for quantum dots fabricated from quasi-two-dimensional systems. In particular, the intrinsic temperature-dependent photoluminescence decay
