โœฆ Synopsis

The problem of a half-space subjected to a periodic strip load has been analyzed and it is shown that the vertical displacement of the top surface, in the center of the strip can be obtained using the plane theory of elasticity provided the strip width is equal to or greater than the periodicity. A simple correction factor can be used for strip widths less than the periodicity.
