โœฆ Synopsis

We provade, for a gaven vortex configuration, a general approach to the soluUon of the Lawrence-Domach model m the London approximation including Josephson couphng between the layers at the linear level Then, the scheme is used to investigate some properties of vortex-antlvortex pairs which are relevant for the mtrmsw critical current introduced by Jensen and Mmnhagen We also study the stability of tilted flux lines

We investigate the properties of a point-like vortex, vortex-antivortex pairs and vortex lines in layered superconductors. The formation energy of a single point-like vortex turns out to diverge logarithmically with the size of the sample. The spontaneous creation of vortex-antivortex pairs leads to

The dynamics of dipolar vortex solutions to the two-dimensional Euler equations is studied. A new type of nonlinear dipole is found and its dynamics in a slightly viscous system is compared with the dynamics of the Lamb dipole. The evolution of dipolar structures from an initial turbulent patch is i
