Abstract

The concerted application of two‐dimensional phase‐sensitive COSY, RELAY, ROESY and ^13^C‐^1^H shift correlation spectroscopy in the structural elucidation and stereochemical assignment of a new asbestinin diterpene, (Z‐11‐acetoxy‐4‐deoxyasbestinin‐(D), is reported. The results reveal that these two‐dimensional techniques are invaluable for the stereochemical assignment of proton resonances in the 4‐deoxyasbestinin series which overlap in ^1^H NMR and homonuclear correlation spectra.
