✦ Synopsis
Abstract
^1^H and ^13^C studies of a series of 19 photochromic spiroindolinonaphthoxazines were carried out by two‐dimensional NMR methods. The assignments of the ^1^H resonances were made by 2D homonuclear shift correlation (COSY) and the 2D nuclear Overhauser effect (NOESY). Complete ^13^C chemical shift assignments were carried out by using DEPT and two‐dimensional heteronuclear correlation spectroscopy.

In this study, we propose __F__~2~‐selective 2D NMR spectroscopy as an effective method to obtain high‐quality spectra of minor components in complex foodstuffs. Selective excitation along the __F__~2~ axis overcame the problems occurring in the conventional __F__~1~‐selective 2D NMR spectroscopy. T
## Abstract The study of the ^1^H and ^13^C resonance spectra of a series of 13 photochromic pyranocarbazoles was carried out using two‐dimensional methods. ^1^H and ^13^C resonances were deduced from the concerted application of HSQC, HMBC and DEPT experiments. Copyright © 2001 John Wiley & Sons,
