✦ Synopsis

Effects of two factors associated with end regions in diagonal type MHD generators, arrangement of output electrodes and attenuation of applied magnetic induction, are investigated by a twodimensional analysis, showing that a suitable design of end regions can almost extinguish the current concentration at output electrode edges, the eddy current and the potential difference between the adjacent electrodes in end regions.
