We report two cases of comorbid body dysmorphic disorder comorbid with bulimia nervosa. In both individuals the perceived physical defect was separate from the body dissatisfaction and body image distortion common in women with eating disorders. We discuss the obsessional nature of body dysmorphic disorder and eating disorders and the presence of extreme self-focused attention as features of these cases. & 1997
