โœฆ Synopsis

Instantaneous (2sec)

profiles of wind and temperature were investigated along with the turbulent fluctuations. These show that profiles dramatically change their shapes in responding to the arrival of large turbulent structures. Using conditional sampling methods, distinctly different profiles for gusts and bursts were identified. Values of the dimensionless function in the flux-profile relationships have been computed in the cases of gusts and bursts respectively. The results demonstrate that low values of the function, which lead to the breakdown of flux-profile relationships, are mainly attributed to burst events at lower levels close to the canopy.

Part I of this paper has shown the suitability of wavenumber}frequency approach in the calculation of the vibro-acoustic response of a thin ba%ed plate to a large class of random excitations. Part II describes the application of this formulation to the prediction of the vibration and the acoustic ra
