## Abstract **The cover picture shows** spherical nanoparticles consisting of NaYF~4~ co‐doped with Er^3+^/Yb^3+^, which have been synthesised through a procedure simpler and less harmful than other methods previously reported, since it does not require the use of surfactant or capping additives. A
