Abstract
We propose a Hubbard model to describe the tunneling effect of electrons in a double quantum dot system connected in the parallel circuit configuration to electrodes. The change in the interdot coupling is shown to dramatically influence the Coulomb blockade (CB) properties. For magnetic double dots, the interdot coupling can be tuned by the external magnetic field, leading to a giant CB magnetoresistance. Possible detection of this effect in organic magnetic molecular systems is discussed. Β© 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2012

We have studied conductance oscillations of a quantum dot by varying the gate potential of one of the gate pairs, that forms the quantum dot, while the other pair was kept at a constant potential. The potential was varied from pinch-off to a level where two or more transverse modes were transmitted
