Busch (UK) Ltd, the vacuum pump and blower manufacturer, has carried out an upgrade project on existing Huckepack 429 equipment at Lionel Hitchen (Essential Oils) Ltd to comply with the latest ATEX standards.
Lionel Hitchen supplies oils to the food, beverage, toiletry and cosmetic industries. The Huckepack is part of a range of fresh oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps, with two-stage compression. The pump was installed at Lionel Hitchen to provide vacuum inside a process vessel so that vacuum distillation could be carried out to fractionate a product.
The Busch equipment is being used in the distillation plant, which has a multi purpose capability. This includes operations such as
