✦ Synopsis
It is not easy to write a book about troubleshooting high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Apart from having considerable working experience, the authors must have organizational skill to be able to present a mass of information in a way that can be followed by first-time users of HPLC and also the skill to know at what level to stop. There is no doubt that Dolan and Snyder have achieved these aims. Their book is organized under three major headings; Chapters 1-5 are under 'general considerations', Chapters 6-13 deal with individual HPLC modules and Chapters 14-17 cover troubleshooting the column separation plus other problems.
In Chapter 1 , the introduction, the reader is advised how to use the book. The authors have rightly assumed that they will have two categories of reader, the first will have time to read the book at leisure, the second will have a problem and will need help quickly. The book offers good reading to the first category
